OPEN Alexis, who had earlier shape-shifted into a wolf, though unable to change her coat colour from its usual bright red, skulked through the trees. Her pale brown eyes darted around the forest, not sure on where she was. Like usual, she had gone on one of her explorations. Growing up the daughter of a traveler, she hated staying in one place for too long. It was quite dangerous on the island to be able to live in one place anyway. Especially with its new way of life.
Though Alexisonfire did have to admit, the way she had lived before this place was not all that great either. If she had really thought about it, never in her life had she been safe. Never had she felt relaxed, and never had she even felt happy. Her mother was a good woman, but she was not suitable to raise a child. For starters, the job of fortune telling was not at all one to bring in the money. It had been fun though, and she would not have realised her powers, but when a man she thought she could trust began doing things to her she did not understand, not even those powers could help her...
Crouching as low to the floor as she could, Alexis crawled catiously through the trees. If anyone did see her close up, it would be easy to spot that she was not infact a real wolf. Not many wolves were orange in colour, but Alexis knew this disguse was her best form of disguse. It was safer this way, though there was a large amount of danger. She was not bothered though; she was used to it.

Ashley, who was just waking up, threw the blanket, she had covered with the night before to keep warm, off of her and slowly stood up. She had camped by the edge of a small stream, after a night of sucessful hunting, in the middle of the woods where she had hoped not to run into anyone. It wasn't that she was anti-social or anything like that, she just hunted better when there was noone around her to either try and stop her, or to try and help her. She was a bit hungry, so she walked over to a tree where she had set a bush hook, the night before, in hopes that a good size fish wass on the line. A smile appeared on her face, when she picked the line from the water, and a 15 pound bass was on the other end. "Oh, yeah! You're deffinitly a keeper!" She brought it on land, to start preparing it to eat, unaware that she wasn't alone.

Alexis heard the sound of a female voice. Her large, wolf ears twitched in an effort to find the direction in which the sound was coming from. This red-wolf shape, was her favourite, apart from her human body obviously. This form was faster, stronger, and her sence of sound and smell was ten times better then her own. The coat protected her from the biting night air, and she was able to be light on her feet. This abled her to follow the noise without so much as the sound of a snapping twig.
Silently, she approached a small camp. Her beady black eyes managed to spot a young woman walking around with a large fish. It was only then Alexis noticed how hungry she was, and her stomach rumbled. Her long pink tounge licked her fangs as she crouched down to the ground. That fish would be enough to satisfy her hunger for today, and most of tomorrow. Smirking evily, she ready-ed her self, and when the woman put it down to prepare it, Alexis jumped from the bushes, snatching the fish in her teeth before starting to make her escape.

Just as Ashley was about to lay her catch on the grass, the red furred, wolf made her move, stealing the fish and making a run for safty. "Hey! Oh no you don't!" She was to hungry to be really mad at her, but she wasn't about to let her escape with her dinner/breakfest. She jumped up, did a right shoulder roll, and threw her knife for the wolf's right shoulder. She had put far to much efort into catching the fish, to allow it to be stolen just as she was about to clean and eat it. Had she known, however, that it was actually a young girl and not a real wolf that had stolen her meal, she would have offered to share it with her. As it was though, all she saw was a wolf looking for an easy meal, something that she intented to denigh it, as the knife flew for it's target.

Alexis began to believe she was about to escape with the large fish in her jaws, when her shoulders was punctured by a dagger which the victim of her theft had thrown. Her right shoulder seemed to suddenly drop to the floor, and the rest of her body followed. She rolled onto the floor in agony, her eyes squinting and her shoulder throbbing. Obviously, she let go of her prize and rolled onto her back. In the last few seconds, she had forgotten her change of shape, and went to put a hand onto her wound. Instead, a paw raised infront of her eyes. With all he strength in her body, she managed to slowly return to her human shape.

Smiling, as she saw her target go down to the ground, Ashley wakled over to where her sword was, picked it up and unsheathed it, and walked over to where Alexisonfire was, only to see her returning to her human form. "What the?! So you're a changling, and a very pretty one at that." She put the tip of her sword at the girl's throat, licking her lips as she held her fate in her hand. "I should just out right kill you for what you tried to do, however I am not one to simply allow a such a pretty little thing to just starve. What say we share this meal?" This was one of the rare times where she showed her true compassion to anyone, but she simple couldn't bare to think of the young girl out there, starving, even if she wasn't entirely human. She waited for her answer.
